Green Chutney | Indian Dip | Cilantro Chutney


This is the Indian dip that is used as accompaniment for so many dishes like Aalu Tikki, Muthiya, Haandvo, Sandwiches, Paneer Tikka, Dhokla, Khaman.....

It can add a spicy, herby touch to your breads and sandwiches and the best part is that it's the easiest thing you'll ever make!! It is more like Indian cousin of the Pesto!!

And it just livens up any dull food...

So here is the recipe, go ahead and make yours...

 Ingredients:

Coriander (Cilantro) Leaves , Cleaned and washed

Mint (pudeena) Leaves (Optional), cleaned and washed

Ginger, peeled and washed

Garlic, peeled and washed

Green Chilli, cut into small pieces

Onion, cut into pieces

Lemon Juice

Salt

Method:

1) Add all the ingredients except salt and Lemon juice in the mixer. Add a little water.

2) And Churn all of it in mixer till you get the smooth paste. Adjust water if needed.

3) Take out, add salt and lemon juice as per taste.

And enjoy with the dish of your choice!!!!

Note:

1) I recently had a different variation of the Chutney at Hubby's aunt's place, where she didn't add any water to the chutney and let it remain a little coarse (and not the usual smooth paste) and that too tasted yum with the main course...

2) My mom doesn't add onions to the chutney, instead she puts Roasted split chana (Daaliya), that too tastes good.
