The Click Happy Album - February 2014!!

We had this collaborative effort for improving our food photos in the Click Happy Group.. Now is the time for the monthly round up!!

First of all a big thanks to Linsy and Priya for helping me setting up the things and getting it going.. Really appreciate your help.

Thank you all for participating and sharing your photos and thoughts and gave encouraging words.

Here is the Click Happy Album along with feedback, the photos were shared on our facebook page. If you want to participate in next month's event, please join our group and start sharing your food photos.
All those who did not participate there can still give their valuable feedback here. We welcome all suggestions for improvement.

If I have missed out on a photo or name, plz let me know, I'll update it ASAP..

Garlic Black Pepper Rasam by Linsy

Feedback: This healthy, yummy and comforting rasam can look better with better lighting, i.e. no flash and day light. Also the glare on the rasam takes away a little from it.

Til ki Barfi by Bhawna

Feedback: These pretty barfis are looking prettier with the whole almonds on top. Lighting too is good here. The background has room for improvement. A solid single colored background would have looked better. Also the plastic flowers are causing a little distraction and taking attention away from barfis.

Curry by Priya Suresh

Feeback: Background, light and the shape of the serving bowl are great!! Though one suggestion was to use more Indian looking serving bowl. The little crop on left may have taken away from the image. Also the red tomatoes in the background are a bit of distraction. One more opinion was that the napkin didn't go with the overall scheme. Some rice or Phulka in the background in place of tomatoes and napkin would have been better.

Thandai by Shobha Keshwani

Have fun this holi with this Thandai. This image can benefit from lesser reflection on the glass (though very difficult to achieve). We would have loved this image more had the glasses not been cropped from top.

Thandai by Shobha Keshwani

In this image we like the bottle but the red background and the tray take attention away from thandai. I found myself trying to read what was written on the tray. A plain paper or cloth of the size of the tray would have solved that problem.

Pumpkin Curry By Shobha Keshwani

This photo has nice wooden background. The layering of plates is also a nice idea, having a plainer small plate and bigger plate with design would have looked better.

Gajar Gobhi Shalgam ka Achar by Shobha Keshwani

Gajar Gobhi Shalgam ka Achar by Shobha Keshwani

This authentic looking pickle has nice props. The jar and the cloth give it authenticity. Though we would love to see a click with some paratha and no glass jar in background. Lighting has room for improvement.

Choori by Shobha Keshwani

This yummy looking churi's photo has some lighting issue. It also looks a little blurry and has some noise. removing the silverware and taking a top down shot may make this a great photo.

Amranth leaves sabzi by Shobha Keshwani

This healthy and spicy curry's photo has its charm in its simplicity. The shape of the bowl too looks lovely. The little cropping on the right is a little distracting. Lighting needs improvement. We would have loved to see more of curry in the bowl, it looks little empty in this image.

Chicken and Walnut Basil Pasta by Shobha Keshwani

This quick and healthy pasta's photo would benefit from a little less busy background. Also it seemed like having lens distortion.

Basundi by Shobha Keshwani

Feedback: This yummy Basundi is looking great with nice lighting. But there seems to be too many props taking away attention from Basundi, esp. the flowers. The second image was liked better.

Carrot Oats Smoothie by Rafeeda

Lighting is great in this photo. Using some props may liven up it more. Also changing the position of light source can give some dramatic results.

Chicken Tehri by Rafeeda

Feedback: As Rafeeda rightly pointed out, the angle needs a little improvement (The lighting is great though), can be easily corrected in Picasa.

Thengachoru by Rafeeda

Feedback: Lighting is great here, so are the rice. The distractions in this image are the background cloth that catches eye and the curry bowl in top right.
Egg Curry by Tanya Desigan

Feedback: The lighting is great and the props are beautiful. The image may go from good to great by being less busy. It has too many props.
Aloo Bhujia from Lisha

This one has nice lighting and nice contrasting colors. Using of some prop can jazz up this image. This image can look great with some funkier fonts and a little crop from top.

Strawberry Jam by me

Feedback: Looks like camera was held in tilting position (or the image has some lens flare). The action (i.e. the jam falling from spoon) looks good.

Whole Wheat Pizza Base by me

Feedback: Positioning the pizza on little left or right rather than in center can improve the image. The little peeking cloth in the bottom is a distraction. BTW, this reminded Linsy of Choice na Pizza :)

Plantain chips by me

Feedback:  Plain and contrasting(dark) background would have looked better.

Aalu methi by Me

Feedback: Light is mild and focus is on food.
